Educational Resources
Amphibian Reproductive Behavior
These two sources are a absolute wealth of information regarding amphibian
reproductive behavior and can be found at most libraries near a university of college.
The first is a landmark study that was performed and published which was highly
recommended to me. This one can be found at your local library.
This study is the first to really explore patterns in Anuran reproduction. It's called
"The Social Behavior of Anuran Amphibians", Kentwood D. Wells, published in
the journal "Animal Behavior", 1977, volume 25, pp 666-693.
The second information source recommended as a starting point is a chapter
in a book called "Mate Choice" edited by P. Bateson.
In it you will find a
chapter called "Male-male competition and mate choice in anuran amphibians"
by Anthony Arak. pp. 181-210.
